Frequently Asked Questions
Will Itsy Bitsy Chef be doing face to face cooking programs again?
Absolutely! Once the restrictions related to the Coronavirus ease up and we are all allowed back into the classroom environment, we will planning to resume our usual program, birthday parties and incursions.
Will Itsy Bitsy Chef be doing Term after-school online cooking programs at a set time every week?
Currently, we are doing online classes pre-recorded, to be played at your convenience. There is some menu planning and refining that I will be working on to adapt to this way of learning. I promise to keep you posted and let you know as soon as possible when face to face classes resume. Christmas cooking is being released soon so watch this space!
Can we organise a live virtual birthday party just with friends?
Yes! I would love to host your online cooking party. We can discuss before the party the special ideas for what to cook with your friends during the online session. There will need to be a minimum number of 10 party goers booked in to run this custom class.
Can we request a private online live cooking session just with friends?
If you have a minimum number of 10 friends who want to book in, then I am happy to create a custom class for you and your friends. Maybe you want to learn the art of CAKE DECORATION, or how to make homemade GNOCCHI! Just send me an email and let me know what you want to learn, then you and your friends can all buy a $25 voucher from the shop or book as a group $250, and then once everyone has their voucher, we can organise the session and I will email you out a ZOOM link with the date and time of your group’s choice.
Can we put in a request for a particular dish that we want to learn from you online?
I love getting suggestions. I have enormous experience in lots of different foods from my time working as a chef. Just remember, if you have a minimum group of 10 people, then you can put a request in to learn something specific for your group and we can do it as a private session.
Do you run classes for people with allergies?
I will be working on some ideas for new yummy dishes to teach online for people with common allergies. Keep a look out on the website for upcoming classes. I will clearly mark out any classes that cater for allergies. Please feel free to email me info@itsybitsychef.com.au with any questions or ideas that you would be keen to see on the menu.
What do we need to be able to join in on an Itsy Bitsy Online class?
You will need to make sure you have a good range of equipment for measuring, weighing, mixing, baking and cutting. You will also need to have the ZOOM app downloaded onto your computer or iPad and a stand for it so you can place it easily on your bench whilst you are preparing food. There must be a a working camera on your computer/iPad. A printer at home also enables you to be able to print out the recipe that I will be sending to you.
Hygiene
Hygiene is a priority when cooking with the children and just like a professional kitchen, they will practice it during the program. They will be taught the importance of washing hands when handling food and how often they should wash.
